Since January 2022 I’ve been deep in the creative process of my first large arts commission, proudly representing the Romani Cultural & Arts Company and supported by the Arts Council of Wales.
On April 9th the exhibition of Gypsy Maker 5 official launched at Art Central Gallery, Barry, after a wonderful installation with my co-artists Corrina Eastwood, Rosamaria Kostic Cisneros, curator Daniel Baker and RCAC director Isaac Blake, and the lovely gallery team Tracey, Emma and Jane. We were lucky to have Dr. Jo Clement deliver a speech to launch the event.

I have created a website for all my material practice and archival research that inspired the final artworks, plus documentary photography by Alun Callender and Grace Gelder.
My project website is called Black Tent / Black Sarah, and can be found here; www.blacktentblacksarah.com . I’ll be adding to it as the exhibition tour progresses this year.

We had a wonderful PV launch and a feature on ITV News Wales, edited by non-other than Hamish Auskerry, the son of my Selkie-sheep supplier Teresa, of Isle of Auskerry! How’s that for synchronicity!!

& drum roll…. I’ll be moving into my new creative studio space next week, and I’m very much looking forward to getting back to work after a week off. I’ve also added a page about my availability to lecture & consult, as this part of my practice has been building over the past few years, you can find it here; Lecturing & Consulting
Last but not least, by way of signing off, The Selkie: Weaving & The Wild Feminine will be sent to print this month, it’s the definitive edition and will be re-printed into the future, if you haven’t got a copy and you’d like to pre-order here’s the link https://www.brightmoonweaving.com/product/book-2nd-edition-pre-order-the-selkie-weaving-the-wild-feminine
Happy Easter!
