Spring Shop Launch

Welcome Spring! Happy Easter weekend!

It’s been a very busy March, full of lovely conversations and visitors to The Selkie at O N C A. I’m so grateful to everyone who visited the exhibition and all those who connected with me online; so many books have gone to international homes and that is just so wonderful! Many thanks for all your support!

Here are a few updates;

Bright Moon Weaving Studio has now launched on Etsy, and the shop will be stocking a lovingly curated selection of handmade British arts and crafts, including my yarn range and woven textiles, plus collaborative pieces including ceramic weaving tools and amulets by Lily Waugh, custom made Harris Tweed cushions by Hayley Halliwell, and a limited edition Traveling Elm Loom Kit made by EJ Osbourne of Hatchet + Bear. The kit also features the wonderful tutorial book Tapestry Weaving by contemporary weaver Christabel Balfour, and a copy of Ernest Journal for all your travel-reading needs. I’ll be adding new items to the shop over the next few days, and then I’ll be doing batch updates every 6-8 weeks once new works are made.

As part of the exhibition, we hosted a sell-out storytelling event with traditional folklore, poetry, music and discussion around The Selkie theme; thankfully Kim Head was able to film the evening as a documentary and this can be viewed here;

I’ll be teaching a workshop in circular weaving this October, please see Make Makers for more details.

Many thanks to No Serial Number Magazine for their feature on my work, and to the wonderful YAK for interviewing me!
