Wild July

Summer is here and that means it’s festival season & Brighton beach is getting very busy too!!

This week, adventures will take myself, Molly & Nadine to Stroud, where we will be working at Seed Festival 7th-9th July, with sustainable craft demonstrations, drop spinning, puppet making and discussing using social media to promote contemporary crafts; come along if you can! www.seedfestival.co.uk
Also our brilliant community project Blanket Without Borders is down is Penryn, Cornwall on the same weekend, hosting a blanket-square-making session on July 7th and poetry evening on July 8th, both to raise funds for the Meena Women’s Centre. www.blanketwithoutborders.org ; Facebook link to event details; https://www.facebook.com/blanketwithoutborders/

And on the weaving front, my big (new) loom has been put to good use, making a very large, very woolly blanket of uncarded jacobs fleece. It’s massive! The wool was spun by the very talented Helen Hickman of Nellie and Eve here on Etsy. I’m still experimenting with warp threads and sampling at this stage, and it’s wonderful to have such freedom to explore different yarn combinations.

(Finally a few photos on a cloudy birthday afternoon down on the beach.)

Best wishes, Imogen Xx
